TRUST ISDN PCI MODEM
4
4 Use
4.1 Diagnostic program
The diagnostic program is a component of the Trust ISDN Utility which you can use
to test the functionality of your ISDN modem. Follow the instructions given below to
do this:
1. Go to 'Start - Programs - ISDN Utility' and select the 'Diagnostic Program'
option from the list.
2. In the space available for 'Own ISDN Number', fill in the telephone number
which is connected to the ISDN modem (see figure 2).
Note: In some countries, it is also necessary to enter the 'Calling Party
Number'. Contact your local telephone company for more
information.
3. Click on the 'Loopback Test' button to start the diagnosis. ‘OK’ will be
displayed three times if all the tests are successful.
If 'OK' was not given for one of the tests, check whether the driver has been
correctly installed and whether the modem is connected to the ISDN network.
4.2 Internet
You may need to create a ‘Dial-up’ connection to make a connection with your
Internet Service Provider (ISP). This is included in Windows and will usually start
automatically when you double-click on the Internet icon. See Windows Help for
more information.
Some Internet providers provide a complete software package for Internet access
which makes your computer suitable for Internet use.
You can also use the Windows ‘Internet Wizard’ which guides you step-by-step
through the process of setting up an Internet connection. See Windows Help for
detailed information.
5 Uninstalling the modem
It is only necessary to uninstall the modem if you no longer wish to use the modem
or if you wish to install a newer driver or a newer version of Utility.
Follow the instructions below to remove the modem from your computer system:
Note: The uninstall program for the modem can only be started if the
‘Trust ISDN Utility’ has been installed. Follow the instructions
given in chapter 3.4 to install this program.
1. Go to ‘Start – Programs – ISDN Utility’ and select the ‘Uninstall DRV & UTL’
option to remove the driver and the Utility program.
2. Place a tick in both check boxes and click on 'OK' (see figure 3).
3. Click on 'Yes' to confirm the uninstallation (see figure 4).
4. Click on ‘OK’ to complete the uninstallation (see figure 5).
5. Turn off your computer and remove the ISDN PCI Modem from the PCI slot.
